Inescop strengthens its partnership with Portuguese technology centre CTCP to drive innovation in footwear
The Portuguese Footwear Technology Centre (CTCP) and Inescop continue to strengthen their strategic collaboration with the aim of promoting innovation, sustainability and competitiveness within the footwear sector across the Iberian Peninsula.
The relationship between the two organisations dates back many years, with both maintaining close cooperation on a range of initiatives and European projects linked to technological development and sustainability within the sector. In particular, CTCP and Inescop have worked together on high-impact projects for the footwear industry under programmes such as LIFE and Erasmus+.
On 4 and 5 May 2026, a delegation from Inescop visited CTCP’s facilities in São João da Madeira for a meeting focused on knowledge exchange, the identification of synergies, and the development of future joint initiatives between the two leading organisations in footwear technology.

During the visit, the Inescop team had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into CTCP’s technological capabilities and ongoing projects, including its demonstration areas, FabLab, and specialised laboratories dedicated to physical-chemical testing and materials development.
The working agenda also included a technical meeting focused on key areas shaping the future of the sector, such as applied innovation, the sustainable transition, digitalisation, research into specific footwear applications, and the development of skills and talent.

Inescop would like to thank CTCP for its warm welcome and the valuable exchange that took place during these sessions, which further reinforce both organisations’ commitment to international cooperation and the technological advancement of the footwear industry.
