Inescop takes part in the kick-off meeting of the European project FootForward in Athens
Inescop has participated in the kick-off meeting of the European project FootForward – Innovative Training for the Diabetic Foot Treatment in Vulnerable Communities in Colombia and Peru, held on 11–12 March 2026 at the University of West Attica (Athens, Greece).
The meeting brought together partners from the European and Latin American consortium with the aim of establishing the foundations of the project, aligning the working methodology and defining the first activities to be carried out in the coming months.

During the working sessions, key aspects were addressed, including project management and coordination, quality assurance, the ethical and data protection framework, as well as communication, dissemination and sustainability strategies. The online participation of the Project Officer from the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) contributed to strengthening operational clarity and defining priorities for the initial phase of the project.
One of the main milestones of the meeting was the definition of the project’s first activities, particularly the training needs analysis in Peru and Colombia. This task, led by Inescop, will be essential for designing a training programme tailored to local contexts and aimed at healthcare professionals, students and other stakeholders involved in the prevention and treatment of the diabetic foot. In addition, the foundations were established for the development of digital training content, as well as for future actions aimed at improving healthcare in vulnerable communities and generating impact through awareness-raising activities and knowledge transfer.

In the field of communication, Inescop presented the project’s Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation Plan, which includes the development of the visual identity, the launch of the official website (https://footforwardproject.eu), the creation of social media profiles and the development and publication of informative materials throughout the project duration .
The FootForward project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme and with a duration of three years, aims to enhance training and capacity building in diabetic foot care in vulnerable communities in Colombia and Peru, thereby contributing to the prevention of complications and improving the quality of life of people with diabetes.

The kick-off meeting represents a key step in strengthening collaboration among the participating organisations and laying the groundwork for the development of innovative training solutions with social and healthcare impact.
