The 22nd UITIC Congress will be held in Shanghai at the end of August 2025

The Congress of the International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians (UITIC) now has a date and venue for its 22nd edition. The world's largest event that brings together footwear technicians and manufacturers will take place in Shanghai, China, from 31 August to 3 September 2025, under the theme "Competitiveness and sustainability of the footwear industry in the era of artificial intelligence".

The UITIC Congress returns to China 12 years later, as the Organising Committee revealed during the last SIMAC fair in Milan. The city of Shanghai will host this international event, now in its 22nd edition, organised by the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA). During this edition, the competitiveness and sustainability of the footwear industry will be discussed in the context of the emergence of artificial intelligence. On the first two days, attendees will have the opportunity to visit local factories, research centres and educational institutions, and network with CLIA members over dinner at the end of the 31. The following days will feature conferences covering a wide range of topics related to technologies for the footwear industry.

UITIC also revealed that on the evening of the second day a gala dinner will be held on a boat cruise on the Huangpu River, and on the third day there will be a visit to ACLE and Moda China, two trade fairs showcasing the latest trends and innovations in the leather and footwear industries.
