ASEFCA holds its General Assembly of associates at INESCOP
ASEFCA, the Spanish Association of Glues and Adhesives Manufacturers, brings back face-to-face meetings after two years of pandemic, with an assembly held at the Footwear Technology Centre . During the meeting, INESCOP’s researcher, Carlos Ruzafa, was appointed new general secretary.
The General Assembly of ASEFCA members gathered again in person at INESCOP, the footwear technology centre that holds the secretariat since 2001.
The members went over the activities carried out during the last year and reviewed the actions to be held for this year 2022. In addition, the assembly analysed the situation of the sector and established the new objectives and budgets for the year 2023.
The assembly culminated with a visit to INESCOP facilities by the subdirector for Materials and Technology, Elena Orgilés. During this meeting, the members were able to learn about the functioning of the centre, and the interdepartmental coordination, as well as the new technology incorporated in the adhesives department.
The members also visited the two new demonstrators, recently inaugurated by INESCOP. On the one hand, the Circular Industry Demonstrator, a pilot plant intended for the recovery of waste and its transformation into raw materials for the manufacture of products with low environmental impact. On the other hand, the Footwear User Experience (UX-LAB), a new laboratory specialised in health and comfort of footwear, and focused on the analysis of the user experience.
Take-over of the General Secretariat
ASEFCA used this meeting as an opportunity to appoint Carlos Ruzafa as the new general secretary of the association, of which he has been deputy secretary since 2018. INESCOP’s Advanced Materials researcher replaces Ana Torró, who held the position since 2001.
After 21 years at the head of the technical secretariat, the head of Laboratories and Quality of INESCOP, gives her position to Carlos Ruzafa. In this way, the Spanish Association of Glues and Adhesives Manufacturers maintains its technical secretariat at the footwear technology centre.
