El Centro Tecnológico del Calzado, Inescop, lidera el proyecto BIVALVOS que trabaja en la transformación de residuos de moluscos en materiales sostenibles gracias a la financiación del Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación, con el objetivo de promover la economía circular valorizando los residuos y mermas de la industria mejillonera, los cuales producen 10 millones de toneladas de conchas de moluscos al año, para ofrecerle nuevos usos en agricultura o alimentación dentro de una iniciativa de la que forman parte como socios: ASINCAR, ITC, La Unió Llauradora i Ramadera, Clóchinas Navarro e Inescop.

Launching Xllence4LeatherAfric: A Project to Promote Sustainability in Africa’s Leather Industry

The European project Xllence4LeatherAfric kicks off in Lisbon, an initiative funded by the Erasmus+ programme aimed at transforming the leather industry in Uganda, Tanzania and Ethiopia through training and sustainability. Coordinated by the Centro Tecnológico das Indústrias do Couro (CTIC) in Portugal, the project brings together eight partners from Europe and Africa: CRETHIDEV (Greece), Inescop (Spain), Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (Tanzania), Kyambogo University (Uganda), Ege University (Turkey), Uganda Leather and Allied Industries Association (Uganda) and Bahir Dar University (Ethiopia).

El XXII Congreso Internacional de Técnicos de la Industria del Calzado (UITIC) se celebrará en Shanghái, China del 31 de agosto al 3 de septiembre de 2025, y lo hará bajo el lema "Competitividad y sostenibilidad en la era de la inteligencia artificial". Desde la organización ha anunciado que ya se pueden enviar las propuestas de trabajo. La fecha límite para la presentación de resúmenes es el 11 de abril.

Padel products brand NOX has added to its catalogue a specific line of footwear for this sporting discipline that improves player's performance and reduces the risk of injury.

After having subjected the prototypes to a series of comfort and functionality analyses, NOX padel shoes have obtained INESCOP's "FUNCTIONAL" label, which certifies that they are comfortable and healthy shoes for the purpose for which they have been developed.
ECOALF

ECOALF has measured the environmental impact of its footwear at different stages of the life cycle to identify areas for improvement and achieve a carbon neutral footprint by 2030.

Thanks to the LIFE GREENSHOES4ALL project, footwear manufacturing companies are helped to reduce their CO2 and greenhouse gas emissions, reducing their environmental impact and contributing to the development of a sustainable industry.

ARSUTORIA School
The renowned Italian footwear design school, ARSUTORIA School, chose INESCOP’s Icad3D+ software for training in their design classroom, which is integrated in their in-house factory. This makes it possible for students to produce their own prototypes, from the design stage to final production.

INGA 3D

INGA 3D emerged due to the difficulties that European footwear companies faced when trying to employ highly-skilled VET graduates in computer-aided 3D footwear design. For that reason, the project created a training material for footwear CAD and an online platform.

Nowadays, both IED Madrid and the "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iaşi (Romania) are teaching with this training material.
